Rest isn’t laziness. It’s resistance.
There was a time I couldn’t rest without guilt.
If I wasn’t doing something “productive,” I felt like I was falling behind.
Resting made me anxious. Lazy. Undisciplined.
So I pushed.
I kept going.
Even when I was running on empty.
Until one day, my body said, “No more.”
I hit a wall—emotionally, physically, mentally.
And I realized something I wish I had known sooner:
✨ Rest isn’t a reward. It’s a requirement.
We live in a world that glamorizes burnout.
Where being “busy” is seen as a badge of honor.
Where slowing down feels like falling behind.
But here’s the truth:
Rest is resistance.
It’s you saying, “I’m not here to earn my worth. I’m already enough.”
It’s you choosing your peace over pressure.
Your wellness over the noise.
So if you’re tired—rest.
If you’re overwhelmed—pause.
If your body is whispering, “I need a break”—listen.
You are not a machine.
You are a human being.
And you don’t have to hustle to prove your value.
You are still enough—especially when you slow down.
Hit reply and tell me—what does rest look like for you this week?
I’d love to hear how you’re giving yourself permission to pause.
Protect your peace,
Joanna
